The sports world is abuzz with the news of Shaq traded to Cavs. Yes that's right, sports fans, Shaquille O'Neal has been traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the news of Shaq traded to Cavs is of special significance because that means that the basketball sensation of the least decade will be playing alongside LeBron James. He was traded from the Phoenix Suns, after spending time with the Miami Heat, and a previous stint famously playing alongside Kobe Bryant on the Los Angeles Lakers under Phil Jackson. The trade included a draft pick, and also Shaq traded to Cavs for some fast cash, and its likely Shaq will never need personal loans as long as he lives.

Hey Big Ten fans (or any of you Big Ten haters, for that matter!:) - I'd love to hear what you think of David Revsine? He has a weekly blog with some interesting behind-the-scenes stuff. I think sometimes he likes to push a few buttons, but it's a good read:
He went to the NCAA tourney selection in February and asked: "What's more important come NCAA tournament selection - quality wins or bad losses?"
The age-old question!
He also came away impressed: "I truly believe the Committee's assertion that it doesn't count teams from particular conferences. Never onoce during the process did anyone say 'we can't have another team from that league," or "They deserve to be in because they play for this conference. Obviously the conference you're in impacts the way you're judged because you play the teams in that conference, but conference affiliation is simply not the reason a team does or doesn't get in."
I know when I watch, I have to admit I'm always a little bit skeptical as to why certain teams are in or are matched the way they are. How much of it is coasting on a rep, and how much is them trying to make sure all the conferences or TV markets or whatever are covered. So I have to admit I was somewhat glad to read Revsine's thoughts on this.
Hah, well it just told me that's not 300 words! Who the heck came up with that rule? Just kidding.

Davidson's run to the Sweet 16 (like any small schools success) is one of the greatest things for college basketball. It not only shows high school players/stars that you don't have to go to a big schools to win games, but that you can also go to college for an EDUCATION and still play competitive basketball. I would argue that without mid-major conference success college basketball would be less about COLLEGE and more about getting to the NBA.

The Illini fans had gotten out of control over the Eric Gordan recruitment. I think coach Weber, and I use coach loosly, should have used some common sense and told the crowd that this behavior should and would not be tolerated in this arena. Doesn't anybody agree?
Just found an article about a service where you can reserve tickets now at face value for the final four tournament. Has anyone heard of this type of service?

Patriot League All-access allows fans to see almost every men and women's Patriot league basketball game this season
The upcoming season looks to be as competitive as ever, as it is possible that seven of the eight teams are at .500 or above entering the League campaign. Every team turned in some outstanding performances in the non-conference portion of the season (AU over Maryland,
In addition, the freshman class looks outstanding with the play of Boon, Beinert, Venezia, Borden, O'Brien, Visockas and Keefer. Plus some role players have stepped up like Litchicum, Woodside and Richards.

Aside from two 11 vs. 6 games, this hasn't been an upset-strong NCAA Tournament ... as of yet. Still, no Final Four has ever featured all four No. 1 seeds, so at least one of the top dogs will collapse, logically. The question is: Whom? And when?
