Transfer Buzz: Duke's Nelson to Washington?

Message boards aflutter this morning with rumors of DeMarcus Nelson potentially leaving Duke and transferring to Washington.

Woah... (none / 0)

News to me.

But a transfer would make little sense. Nelson is in a position to excel at Duke next season.

Should he transfer, however, Coach K would not look too favorably upon Lorenzo Romar. First, Brockman. Now, Nelson.

Unlikely (none / 0)

I heard this rumor a couple months ago towards the end of the season--Nelson not happy with Coach K or life at Duke, etc.  However, since then the same people have been saying that Nelson and K have smoothed things out.  I mean, he is going to be a starter on one of the top contenders for the title next year.

He should transfer (none / 0)

I mean, I go to Duke and I would love him to stay, but it would be better for him to transfer. He needs to be the go to guy on his team as far as scoring goes. On Duke, he'll have to share points with JJ and Shelden next year, plus a ton of phenoms coming in after they put the age limit on the NBA. At Washington, with Nate, Brandon Roy, and Tre Simmons gone and Martell probably going to the NBA out of high school, Demarcus would be the leader on a not as good but still tournament worthy team.
