What is Indiana thinking?  They should have done an extensive search not one limited to so few options.  The Sampson hire makes no sense to me.  But I guess only time will tell.

Sampson leaves OU with (none / 0)

the NCAA building camp in Norman.  Good call by Kelvin, not so sure Indiana couldn't have done better.  Did Rick Barnes turn them down or is he waiting for the Kentucky job?

Does Samson have to take his fines with him? (none / 0)

Having received a penalty by the NCAA, the loss of two scholarship players for two years, for recruiting violations, does OU get punished and loose the players or does the fine follow him to Indiana?

If the penalty stays at OU, they will be severely handicapped against a very formidable conference over the next two years.

If penalty goes to Indiana, and OU gets a new coach (maybe the Wichita St. coach) then things are looking up in Norman.

Unbelieveable (none / 0)

WOW! - Kelvin Sampson is going to be the coach at Indiana!  I can not believe this.  What is Indiana thinking?  They have just taken a step back in my eyes.  I thought it was time for Mike Davis to go - but not to be replaced by Sampson.  I would take Davis over Sampson any day.  It will be interesting how the Hoosier Nation will enjoy THUG BALL, because that is what Sampson plays. He recruits JUCO players who also happen to be thugs.  They do not graduate.  They also have run ins with the law.

Wow - I am completely floored by this move.  By next February Hoosiers everywhere will be begging for Mike Davis back AND demanding that the AD be fired for not at the very least bring in Steve Alford - who would provide a buffer between Knight Hoosiers and Anti-Knight Hoosiers!

Eh? (none / 0)

I'm as confused as the rest of you.

But at least this puts to rest all those rediculous rumors of Sampson taking over at Arizona "any time now".

Sampson relacing Olson (none / 0)

I think that Sampson has been coaching his way out of the Arizona "job" for a few years now.  Hopefully, we can keep Lute here for at least another ASU coaching cycle and by then we'll find an equally classy candidate for point guard u.
