University of Georgia basketball player Kendrick Johnson will transfer to San Jose City College...Former Pittsburgh point guard Brandin Knight has joined the Panthers' coaching staff as "program assistant and video coordinator"...Memphis guard Jeremy Hunt has been reinstated and will play for the Tigers during the 2006-07 season. Jeremy Hunt back at Memphis!?!?! (none / 0)

This is probably going to create a stir in some circles, with Hunt back and Calipari's previous players having some legal issues.

And some cynics will point out that coaches tend to conviniently "rediscover" some players from the past when they have a roster need or when there are injuries or transfers or their underclassmen bolt for the NBA out of the blue.

Obviously I do not know the finer details of the situation, but if the player in this case deserves another chance or the benefit of the doubt, I am all for it.

The fact that he gives Calipari a five-year senior guard in a team full of sophomores and freshman will no doubt be helpful in practice, on the field and the locker room, assuming Hunt comes back all ready to go and business-like.
