Saturday and Sunday isn't tremendously exciting, and more a precursor to Championship Weeks. But aside from seeing which 1-bid leagues might become 2-bid leagues, what else could we learn this weekend?
How far has Washington fallen? At the beginning of the season, they were a prohibitive Pac-10 favorite, so much so that this weekend's game against UCLA had a legitimate chance to be a national TV showcase for the regular season conference title. But, the Huskies have underachieved, and they still might fall at home to a Bruins team with little to prove on Saturday.
Who is the best frosh class of the Big 12 across the past two years? Last year's edition - Kansas - goes against this year's edition - Texas - in another game that could switch more fans onto the Durant bandwagon (the thing is tipping over from topheaviness).
Can Tommy Amaker save his job if he knocks off OSU and helps secure a bid for his Wolverines?
Should Tommy Amaker even have a job right now?
How ironic is the ACC? The little basketball team that could - Virginia, with arguably the best backcourt in America - is going to probably lock up the conference's No. 1 seeding with a win over Wake Forest, a traditional BASKETBALL school who excelled in FOOTBALL this season, whereas UVA struggled. What's going on along the Eastern seaboard?
Are Marquette and USC for real? Can they do anything substantial in 2-3 weeks?
Will the Duke vs. UNC game this Sunday be a reversal of last year's Duke vs. UNC game - i.e. will a win by a young Duke squad propel them to a vaunted position for the Tourney in the eyes of experts (only to lose to a surging mid-major)? Or will Psycho T knock the stuffing out of Coach K and company again, as the deep Tar Heels begin their run to a second title in three years (albeit with a completely different cast)?
Can Reggie Theus and New Mexico State get a leg up on the WAC Tournament by knocking off a Nevada team that fell to Utah State this week already?
Can some network please pick up "Hang Time" in syndication?
Who goes out with a bigger bang in their theoretical home finale: Acie Law IV or Alando Tucker?
